He makes many good points about the building pressure within the Republican party, which I think is going to implode based on its perceived success among ultra-right-wingers and a moderate core that will ultimately decide to protect the American way of life from the extremists, particularly the evangelical right.
The current packing of the Bush Administration with “loyalists” is an important signal that the White House is becoming more insulated from reality, which means reality is actually rearing up to strike the Bushies hard as they sail blithely on the winds of a false mandate into the radical waters they see as their due, to take a post-2002 phrase from Vice President Dick Cheney.
Moderate Republicans, not Democrats, are going to do the biting.]]>
