Debasing the military, debasing the nation

<![CDATA[I met Sabrina Weiner, a reserve Naval officer, this morning at the Blog Business Summit. She is justifiably upset by this photo of the Republican Party flag hanging above the Marine Corps flag at a Republican rally in Olympia, Washington (this was when the Republicans shifted from saying the Democrats should accept the victory of Dino Rossi in the Washington gubernatorial election to crying foul because the vote count was off).
Let’s think about other situations where political party flags have flown above military banners…. National Socialism did that. This particular photo may have been the result of a blunder, but it speaks volumes about the psychology of the right, who now believe the nation should serve their agenda rather than that their agenda should be to serve the nation.]]>
